Hi Folks,

Thank you again for all your support. It's not easy as you can imagine to not take work or have to cancel work when you are self employed. Thanks to all the folks who help in all ways to keep prayers coming and prayer lines going, who mail and email encouragement and send wonderful wishes of good health in beautiful cards, those who send aid of all kinds and those who have organized fund raisers, concerts, collections, etc... and the list goes on and on. I don't mean or want to single anyone out as, to me, It's all been an overwhelming response I would have never imagined possible, ever. It allows badly needed time to heal and get back on my feet without the killer stress I've always put on myself to see everyone else was cared for. I do find it hard to be on the receiving end of things! I've always tried to be the helper, fixer, care giver and mender of whatever came in front of me. That's easy for me as that's what I see as life! Helping in whatever I can do. My door is always open! My Mom and Dad were like that and we, (my sister and I) don't really know anything different, that's who we are. We wouldn't have it any other way. My son Jerry Jr. has seen the same here at home and sees and is so happy to see such concern for me. He's a big soft hearted man. He's my son, the love of my life and my best friend! I'm so proud of him! I thank God for him every day!

Anyway, The last Doctor I've seen about my kidneys (this past Monday) said that the brain scan came back clear! Second, he said that 2 of the 3 lesions that were in question of, results came back saying they were sis's. Now, to me, that's good news. I'll be dealing with Kidney Doctors soon (waiting for an appointment) and they tell me what the game plan will be after I go in for 2 more CAT scans. I thought I would have seen the kidney Doctor this past Monday, but it was to bring me up to date on what they found. When I know more, I'll post it on my website.

Again, I want to thank you all again from the warmest and safest spot in my heart for your kindness, concern and prayers.
Jerry

Hi Folks,

I feel like I'm the richest man in the world from your overwhelming response of friendship and concern. Anyone in my eyes that makes an effort to call, email, aid in anyway out of their day to put and keep a smile on my face through these times holds a special warm spot in my heart. I can only hope you know how I really feel when I say the two words that sound so lame for something so very meaningful to me, Thank you!

Yesterday was a big day for me finishing 10 Radiation treatments. It's been hard with pain, swelling and fatigue. The other day (day 7 of treatments) starting off with pain and swelling and not being able to do much other than stagger around the house with my crutches. After being at the kitchen table for about an hour and a half I went to get up and, You know the feeling of, God! What's wrong now?! Getting my footing and standing for a second or two I realized my leg wasn't paining! I wiggled it a little more not trusting what I had hoped for, and I am so very happy to say I had NO PAIN. It was the first time since the first week of Sept. 2006 that I've had no pain to speak of. No more cringing, tensing up or distress when I go to get up to get around. Prayers work! Don't forget it!

I have an appointment in about 4 weeks to see what progress was made from these treatments, and on I go. Today was a good day for a CAT scan of the Brain, the stuff they shoot into you after the first run of CAT scans tastes Yucky! It's 24 hours later now and it tastes worse! My Radiation Doctor answered a lot of questions I had in what I'd be facing next - what he thought might happen, depending on what shows up in Scans, x-rays, CAT scans, etc......... I know you get the picture. I have a total of 3 lesions in my kidneys. 2 in 1 and 1 in the other. I'm told 1 lesion is likely Cancer in my left kidney and the other lesion is in question. The other kidney has a questionable lesion as well. He figures that the Chemo Doctor will look at everything (assess) and start confirming what the lesions are for sure. Chemo introduced to the lesions in my kidneys could cause shrinkage of these lesions. Shrinkage would confirm Cancer. If shrinkage doesn't happen, it's not Cancer, that's how I'm understanding things.

I was out playing last night in North Sydney with local fiddler friends, I had a great but short night since I still need to take it easy. I'm thrilled that I am feeling good enough at this moment with help in place for my new (as of this year) school that I'm so proud of and thankful for. The Ceilidh Trail School of Celtic Music in Inverness, Cape Breton starts on the 9th of July, held this year in Inverness Academy.

Future updates and info to come...

Thank You!
Jerry
